Background

kraya have a long-standing relationship with Stagecoach and have been involved with developing and maintaining their websites and brand since its inception in 2003. Over the years kraya have continued to build on the functionality and performance of the sites to meet the ever-growing demands of the expanding Megabus services. One example of this was a recent requirement to deliver multi-language functionality as Stagecoach expanded their network across North America.

What We Did

kraya liaised with Stagecoach and a third-party translation service provider to deliver existing site content and functionality in Spanish for Megabus US (http://www.megabus.com/us) and French Canadian for Coach Canada (http://sales.coachcanada.com).  As well as the static site textual content there was the technical challenge of translating graphical elements and dynamically generated content quickly and accurately. There were also layout considerations to take into account – navigation links for instance had to be carefully scrutinised to ensure the translated versions still fitted into the page layout. The French Canadian service in particular was very important to Stagecoach since this is now a legal requirement in the province of Quebec. kraya were able to meet all the challenges and delivered the new functionality to specification and on budget.

Results

Expansion into North America was hugely successful. The North American site received heavy traffic on day one and the number of new visitors increases day by day.
